Bard-In-A-Box
“Bard-In-A-Box”, is a special touring program that brings a professional actor with a fun interactive workshop to your school!
See William Shakespeare’s world come to life - in your classroom, in your library, at your summer camp, at your club meeting, or anywhere a group of students or adults meet. This workshop is designed to get your group out of their seats and up “on stage”. It can be customized for any age group - kindergarten through adults.
The time slot can be adjusted for your schedule - anywhere from about 20 minutes to an hour. Prior to the event, your teacher or group leader will consult with one of our professional actors to choose a Shakespearean play and a date. Then, on that whimsical day, our actor arrives with an intriguing box filled with costumes, props, and scripts.
Your participants learn the same physical and vocal warm-ups that professional actors utilize before a performance. Then the colorful costumes and props are distributed. Roles are assigned. Your participants are transformed into a royal court of Renaissance England. Our professional actor will step aside, because your group will become the actors, staging an entertaining scene - with each other and for each other.
The cost is $50 an hour with a minimum of $150.
